Utility knives share many of the characteristics of hunting knives with the differences being in the thickness of steel and the amount of steel carried toward the cutting edge. I also like to include a straight cutting edge leading to the cutting curve and tip, a better prospect for cutting lines, chopping meat and other general duties. It's all shades of grey and an arbitrary division I'm making. However that being said, these knives are not as robust as camp / bushcrafting knives or as finely wrought as hunting knives but fall in that gap between. They are quite capable of dealing with the game at the end of the day be it a rabbit or leg of goat or cutting the odd bit of parracord.
